CHAPTER FIVE: A Fellow Believer's Concerns
I did a little searching about them. If you have a Halley's Bible
handbook, you may wish to read the section on "How We Got The Bible"...
it gives the titles of a bunch of books - most all considered frauds. The
N.T. was put together by the early church because of so many fraudulent
books and letter about at the time... after much debate they settled on
the current 27 books.
Maccabees covers the inter-testament period about 165 BC and I do
not look for any spiritual intentions in accepted historical accounts -
but I would in Kings and Chronicles in the AV.
All through history people have discovered the lost books thinking
that they should be included. The problem is that we are now 2000 years
away from the fact! What could we possibly know that the first century
church did not know?
It's your business what you may study, but as friend, I want you
to be careful.
