Wisdom Versus Wisdomby Matthew CooverHuh! Kind of funny title, isn't it? Well not really. Really it makes quite a bit of sense. Soon we'll find out why.You see, there is a book called the Bible. It contains many books, chapters, and verses inside it's covers. Supposedly, this book is a book of profound wisdom, but for some, this wisdom gets a little confusing at times, that is, until they search it out to find the real meaning.Proverbs 4:7 and 8 says, "Wisdom is the principle thing, therefore get wisdom; and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honor when thou dost embrace her." So.....it appears that according to King Solomon, wisdom is something to be desired. Right? But wait a second here. I just flipped by something else in my Bible. Now the Bible's not supposed to contradict it's self, is it? Well what's wrong here then? Ecclesiastes 1:18 says, "For in wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth in knowledge increaseth in sorrow." Ahhh! Now the folks of today have it made. Yahweh's word not only disagrees with the majority of men, but it even disagrees with it's self! It's just a big old fairy tale! Sorry, but I tend to disagree. The problem lies in the fact that the folks of today are telling the fairy tale.Has the thought ever occurred to you that there could be two kinds of wisdom? From what I've found, there are. Number one is Yahweh, Elohim, the creator of that we see today, the one of whom David speaks saying "O Yahweh, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom thou hast made them all: the earth is full of thy riches." [Ps 104:24] Yahweh is wisdom, and the father of all who walk in His wisdom. The wisdom of Yahweh is wisdom in it's fullest form. However, just as there are counterfeit bills, there is counterfeit wisdom. The counterfeit is the wisdom of the world; the wisdom of men. The sad this is that too many do not realize the counterfeit until it is too late.Wisdom of man; yes, it's so prevalent in our society today. There's folks claiming the whole vast realm of space came to be with an explosion. However, I tend to agree with that one. As I once saw on a tee-shirt, "God spoke and BANG! It happened." The problem is that those who persist in false theories, the Messiah is going to return, and BANG! They're gonna wish they hadn't persisted so.But then there are some who don't go along with the wisdom of the world so openly. They'd make a fool of themself if they preached the "big bang doctrine". Instead, they go on for real wisdom! Sound good? They go to school all their childhood years in the public education system and fill their heads full of well accepted foolishness such as holidays, cater to the flesh teachings, anti-Yahweh studies, etc. till they're about ready to burst from all this wonderful knowledge they have attained. Then they move out of home, get a grant, and go to college the rest of their life learning of everything from micro-organisms to every religion under the sun. These poor guys come out with so much knowledge that they are utterly confused and don't know what to do with themselves...... because it's not the right kind of wisdom. Sounds like Ecclesiastes being fulfilled.Isaiah 55:8 and 9 says, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are my ways your ways, saith Yahweh. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."You are placed in one of three categories. You are either a youth with a whole life before you, an adult, possibly the parent of several children by now, or a senior, up in years. No matter what age group you are placed in, you have no doubt chosen the wisdom you will follow after and devote your life to. If you once thought you had chosen the best, but now are not so sure, it is not too late to choose again.Wisdom versus wisdom; such a simple yet important choice to make. One will bring sorrow and discontentment, the other peace and joy. The choice is fully yours. Will you not choose carefully. |
