Sarah called Abraham [Master]?
by S. L. White
I Peter 3:6 "Even as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him [master]: whose
daughters ye are, as long as ye do well..."
There is something about calling Abraham [master] that has me intrigued.
The [Scriptures] tell us to serve our husbands as we would serve [Elohim].
I have found this so interesting that I want to share my thoughts with
you here:
Have you ever considered all the verses in the [Scriptures] which tell
us how to serve [Elohim]? Or the blessings / punishments that will follow
depending on whether or not we obey? Don’’t these promises relate to our
husbands too? For instance, In Psalm 100:2 it says, "Serve [Yahweh] with
gladness: come before his presence with singing." Now, just consider for
a moment how happy your husband would be if he came home from work to see
you smiling, rejoicing and serving him with your whole heart. This is such
an amazing thought! Now I will guide you through a brief study of these
principles and may [Elohim] open your mind and soften your heart in order
to partake of the beauty of the Scriptures.
BITTER WORDS OR WORDS OF COMFORT?
1. Psalm 147:1
"Praise ye [Yahweh]; for it is good to sing praises unto our [Elohim];
for it is pleasant; and praise is comely." - Praise your husband with much
love, appreciation and thanksgiving!
WHO DO YOU TRUST?
2. Psalm 118:8
"It is better to trust in [Yahweh] than put confidence in man." - How many
times have we listened to the counsel of others, much to our shame and
destruction, against the will of our husbands?
A DECEITFUL WOMAN?
3. Psalm 78:36 - 37
"Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth; and they lied unto
him with their tongues. For their heart was not right with him. . "
- How many of us have acted like we loved our husbands but, truly, when
his back was turned, we ridiculed and belittled him and went our own way?
ARE YOU DISCONTENT?
4. Isaiah 57:21
"There is no peace, saith my [Elohim], to the wicked." - What home is happy
when the wife is doing her own thing, and not obeying the law of [Elohim]?
She has no peace in her heart, no contentment!
A FILTHY WOMAN?
5. Zephaniah 3: 1 - 2
"Woe to her that is filthy and polluted. . . She obeyed not the voice,
she received not correction [instruction]; she trusted not in [Yahweh];
she drew not near to [Elohim]." - This woman went away from her husband
and [Yahweh]. She is filthy and polluted! She is supposed to trust her
husband and draw close to him!
WHY NO BLESSINGS?
6. Jeremiah 5:25
"Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden
good things from you." - Do we see that by our sins, we are preventing
blessings from coming to our households?DESIRES GRANTED?
7. Psalm 37:4
"Delight thyself also in [Yahweh]; and he shall give thee the desires of
thine heart." - Did you see that??? That is so amazing! If you delight,
or take pleasure, in serving and loving your husband, he will please you!
He will do good to you! What are the desires of your heart? What is it,
kind soul, that you would like? Please your dear husband, and he will give
it to you. Yet there must be a warning here - your desires must not be
ungodly!
HOW TO HANDLE AN ANGRY HUSBAND
8. Psalm 119:23
"Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate
in thy statutes." - Even great royalty had persecuted him! Yet, he did
not respond in an [unrighteous] fashion. He got through his suffering by
concentrating, or focusing, on the word of [Elohim]! Remember when you
were in labor, about to give birth to a precious babe? You were told to
find a "focal point", something to give all your attention to in order
to divert your attention from the pain and to stay in control. This "focal
point" is the [set apart] Word of [Elohim] and this is what will keep us
under control in every situation! If your kind husband is not so kind at
the moment, please be hushed. Bear it patiently for the storm will soon
be calm.
DOES YOUR SITUATION SEEM HOPELESS?
9. Matthew 8:20
"And [Yahshua] saith unto him, the foxes have holes, and the birds of the
air have nests, but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head." - Even
our dear [Master] was homeless! Your situation may seem unbearable, it
may seem overwhelming or on the brink of destruction, but you must consider
this (And please, never blame your husband or become bitter towards him
because of your circumstances), every moment of your life is a mission!
You are sent on missions and assignments by [Yahweh] Almighy! He knows
where and what you are to do. Your job is simply to trust and obey! Murmur
not! For [Elohim] has an important job for you and regardless of how it
must feel, do not let selfishness or lack of material comfort get in the
way of performing your tasks with the heart of a joyful servant. For hasn’t
[Yahweh] promised to take care of you. And do you believe Him?
DO YOU CONSTANTLY STUDY THE SCRIPTURES?
10. John 12:23 - 24
“[Yahshua] answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my
words: And my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make
our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings." - So
you must see that if we faithfully and continually study His word, we will
know what it says and then and only then, can we keep it! If you don’t
love [Elohim], then don’t even bother reading His word. Remember that this
meditation is essential to all other aspects of life! You cannot have a
happy marriage without a joyous heart in [Yahweh].
YOU ARE NOTHING WITHOUT HIM
11. John 15:5
"I am the vine, ye are the branches: he that abideth in me, and I in him,
the same bringeth forth much fruit: FOR WITHOUT ME YE CAN DO NOTHING."
- You will only bring forth rotten fruit if you do not fully focus on the
Scriptures. It is the source of life and hope and happiness. You will Spiritually
die without a continual feast on the Word of [Elohim]! Then your home will
be broken, your marriage destroyed and you will be left alone with only
bitterness and regret!IT TAKES SIMPLE FAITH
12. Luke 8:48
"And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made
thee whole, go in peace." - Oh, what sweet delight are the words of our
[Master]! - Go in peace - Why? - because of your faith!
SARAH’S FAITH
13. Hebrews 11:11
"Through faith also Sarah herself received strength . . . because she
judged him faithful who had promised." - Let us have great Faith in the
Promises of [Elohim]. Delight thyself in thy husband (and Elohim) and you
will receive the desires of your heart!
Remember, dear Soul, Your husband is like [the Master]. Who, now, would
treat Him badly?
